Well hello......
Well hello......

I am a mum of 6 and student midwife.
I would love to provide midwifery care in a healthy environment of the family......... lets see where the next year takes me!

wooohooo!

Should have posted yesterday but I was so excited!

I passed all my exams/assignments and I am now into my final year of training to be a midwife!  Only 10 more weeks of lectures and I will be in my internship!  So excited!!  I cant wait to be out there with the mums again!!

Been a mad few days and glad to be posting back on here!

Theres a protest on another social networking site today regarding the sites removal of pictures of people breastfeeding.

It seems absurd that pictures of women innocently feeding their babies are removed….  Here is my fav pic of me EVER.

Its just after the completely physiological birth (including 3rd stage) of my 6th child in 2005..

Trying to be more positive today……..

Its a great idea, lets see if we can spread the news!

grrrrr………..

Devastated…………… my 17yo decided to try and run away again today.  She is currently just home.

I am experienced in youth issues having been a leader for 5years.  I am used to supporting young people and adults through difficult times but my own daughter hates me……………………

I am terrified she will jump out the window again and in the morning when her 6yo brother goes looking for her she will be gone.

Wish I knew the solution………….gonna head to bed, try to sleep whilst keeping one eye open………………. Shame I love her so much…….

chilling…. with Dean and Sam!!

Well, season 6 has finally hit… a little jealous of you guys in the States who get this so much earlier!  My eldest daughter has already seen it, she downloaded ages ago but I have been way to busy with study…

Tomorrow is set to be busy, I am doing some training to be a midwifery Peer supporter…  This should enable me to support some newer students through their 1st year of Uni as a student midwife.  I am looking forward to it.

love this one too…

” Never grow a wishbone, daughter, where your backbone ought to be”
Clementine Paddleford

Love this quote…..

Attending births is like growing roses. You have to marvel at the ones that just open up and bloom at the first kiss of the sun but you wouldn’t dream of pulling open the petals of the tightly closed buds and forcing them to blossom to your time line.
~ Gloria Lemay

Excited and scared!!!!!!!

OMGG…. cant believe I finally bit the bullet!

After much procrastination I have booked the ‘Midwifery Today Conference’ in Germany in October!!  I’ve been looking at this since Feb/March time, wondering if I could leave the OH and kids even after the OH gave the OK and now its done!!

Cant wait, some really wonderful Midwives and birth advocates will be there; Ina May Gaskin, Elizabeth Davis, Jan Tritten, Robbie Davis-Floyd, Michel Odent amongst others…

Still got accommodation and transport to book but cant wait……..yippppeeeeeee! ..:-))))

On a downside my 17yo daughter continues to be depressed….. not sure if its getting worse.  She has exams starting tomorrow and I think this is worsening things, I do hope its just a blip….

To all midwives/doulas/caring women out there…..my prayer for you…

Dear God:

this is my friend, whom I love and this is my prayer for her:

Help her live her life to the fullest.
Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations.

Help her to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love.
Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most.

Let her know when she walks with you, she will always be safe.

Love you Girl!
